Los Angeles Airport Explosion Update -- Another Suspect Arrested

A second suspect on the dry ice incident regarding the Los Angeles International Airport explosion, last week, was arrested Friday. Miguel Angel Iniguez, a ground supervisor, was arrested during work for the suspicion of carrying explosive devices in connection with the blast.

Iniguez's co-worker, DiCarlo Bennett, was first arrested earlier last week because of the dry ice explosion.

Police say that the blast has nothing to do with terrorism and it was only a gag for Bennet.

A prank that gone terribly wrong is what happened with the dry ice incident. The ground service supervisor and his co-worker admitted that it was supposed to be a practical joke. Officials say that they need to take that seriously especially that they are working in an airport.

"He was a prankster," Official Michael Downing told reporters. "He thought it was funny. Although, Downing added, "there is nothing funny about what he did."

Los Angeles Airport Official Patrick Gannon reported last Wednesday, "It's not a prank and it's going to be dealt with very seriously."

Another airport official, Charlie Beck reported that the explosive devices were "more of a noise device than a device that causes damage." He added, "Whether you think this is a harmless prank or a way to disrupt operations at the airport, it won't matter, you will go to jail."

Two explosions happened last week in the hands of the two airport employees. First blast was reported last Sunday in the employee's restroom and another bomb was detonated outside the terminal of the Tom Bradley International Airport on Monday.

The two airport workers are being held by officials as of press time. The 41-year-old Iniguez is in custody with a $500,000 bail and the 28-year-old Bennet with a $1 million charge for explosion charges.
