Wonder Woman In ‘Batman Vs. Superman’? Is Wonder Woman a Good Match for the Man Of Steel?

Wonder Woman might join the fight against evil in director Zack Snyder’s “Man of Steel” sequel, Batman vs. Superman. Warner Bros. hasn’t confirmed or denied it. Maybe if we throw a golden lasso around them they will.

Wonder Woman might be waiting in the wings. Batman vs. Superman producers are playing it very close to the vest with the Man of Steel sequel. They’ve thrown up some footage of a Metropolis football game, but other than that, nothing. Well, except the Ben Affleck casting.

That is, until someone asked Warner Bros. Pictures’ Greg Silverman if Wonder Woman would appear in the Batman Vs. Superman movie at Variety Magazine’s Entertainment and Tech Summit. He said “We have been doing a lot of thinking for years about how to best use all those characters. Wonder Woman is an amazing character. I think it’s a great opportunity both for box office success, but also to have an amazingly powerful female superhero.”

He’s not really saying much there, is he?

So the audience cornered him, asking hi point blank if Wonder Woman is in Batman vs. Superman. The cagey Warner Bros. suit said “We are taking it all very seriously and are trying to do a plan that’s respectful to those characters and maximizes the stories as best they can. So everything that has been speculated are things that we’ve thought about.”

When pressed, Greg Silverman, changed the subject to the always distracting talk about Ben Affleck’s role as Batman in the Man of Steel sequel.

Silverman said “We knew what the take of the movie was, we knew what the character was going to be. We don’t take these decisions lightly. We thought about everybody — brand new people, established people. Ben is the perfect guy to play this role.”

Fans want to see Wonder Woman on TV. So does Joss Whedon. CW tried, but it didn’t work out.

Forgetting all about the seventies “Wonder Woman” series, Joss Whedon told Entertainment Weekly earlier this year “I don’t think she lends herself to television. I think she only works on an epic scale. I saw a bit of the David E. Kelley [pilot]. That was not a good marriage.”
