Team B Suffers A Crippling Loss To Team A In YG's WIN: What will this mean for the YG trainees?

After losing on WIN, Team B and fans of the group, ponder the future.

YG Entertainment's reality show "WIN", whose goal was to launch its next boy band from trainee status to stardom, came to an end with Team B losing to Team A. While Team A went into the competition with the advantage of leader Kang Seung Yoon successfully debuting prior to "WIN", Team B was reliant solely on the competition to launch themselves out of obscurity. In an industry where trainees can fade into the shadows without fully debuting, what will become of the guys from Team B?

On October 25th, prior to the competition finale, YG Entertainment CEO, Yang Hyun Suk, announced that he would uphold his original promise to delay the debut of the team or completely dissolve the group. Yang Hyun Suk then clarified that there was a possibility that the losing team would remain as trainees at YG Entertainment, however, the group may not maintain the current lineup and those who are the weakest links may be released. These proclamations wounded the hearts of both fans and netizens who speculated that YG would use both Team A and Team B from "WIN" as an opportunity to create a mega group similar to SM Entertainment's Super Junior or EXO.

Those familiar with YG Entertainment will recognize the similarities between"WIN" and the show that was created to launch what is now one of the most renown K-Pop groups, BigBang. During "BigBang's Documentary" series, Seungri, whose recent solo release "Let's Talk About Love" dominated the Korean real time charts, was initially cut from the original lineup. CEO Yang Hyun Suk saved Seungri from elimination, using Seungri to replace Jang Hyunseung whom Yang Hyun Suk believed was not as prepared to become part of the group.

If the name Jang Hyunseung sounds incredibly familiar, it is because Hyunseung went on to become a member of Cube Entertainment's BEAST. In addition to BEAST, Hyunseung has received accolades as one half of the duo Trouble Maker, in which he exudes utter sexiness with label mate HyunA. Although, Hyunseung suffered a loss when cut from BigBang, he has proven that he is well suited on the Cube Entertainment label.

In a manner similar to his praise for Team A leader Kang Seung Yoon, Yang Hyun Suk delivered great praise to Team B leader Kim Han Bin who is popularly known as B.I. B.I. is a triple threat with potential similar to G-Dragon, in that he is a rapper, dancer, and songwriter. As a former JYP Entertainment trainee, Kim Donghyeok, also shows a lot of potential as a break out from Team B.

Regardless of what happens to the members of Team B, former YG Entertainment trainees like Hyunseung and 2PM's Jun.K have proven that there are opportunities beyond those offered by Papa YG. What do you think will become of Team B and its members? Who do you think has the most potential within Team B?
