Did Kim Kardashian know that Kanye West was going to propose to her? According to Kanye West, Kim Kardashian knew that they were going to get engaged and that he was going to propose; it was just a matter of timing.

"I think Kim just knows everything," Kanye West said about his new fiance Kim Kardashian, in a radio interview with Los Angeles station Power 106. "It's not a surprise."

"She knew I was eventually going to ask her to marry me, I just had to get that ring right. I worked with four different jewelers. Three rings were made, and only one actually hit the finger. ... I actually changed the ring the night before. That ring was less than four hours old when I gave it to her."

Kanye West proposed on Kim Kardashian's 33rd birthday, The New York Daily News reports.

But Kim claims she didn't know the proposal was coming.

She told E! News reporters at her birthday party in Las Vegas that she had "no idea" a proposal was coming.

"I cried afterwards," she said. "I was shaking. And when you're like, 'Is this really happening?' But you're just shaking. ... I honestly had no idea, none whatsoever."

"I knew we were going to San Francisco for my birthday, because he had a show there the next night. So I thought it was just a birthday dinner."

West said he called Kardashian's mother, Kris Jenner, "that day" to ask for her hand in marriage, which also made him nervous.

When Kim was getting married to Kris Humphries, she didn't want to take his last name - but this time, E! News reports that Kim is planning to take her fiance's last name and add it to her own. She will become Mrs. Kim Kardashian West when she gets married next summer.
