Nicki Minaj, 'High School' Is What You Call The Entertainment Industry? 'One Big Popularity Contest,' She Says

According to Nicki Minaj the entertainment industry is totally high school.

In a recent interview with "Teen Vogue" the female MC implied that she is surrounded by a majority of celebrities that act like children.

“People treat this business like it’s high school,” she said. “It can absolutely feel like one big popularity contest, and you know what? I can’t be bothered. I can’t allow myself to play ridiculous games with grown adults in the industry. I can’t be nice to someone just because they’re hot right now. I can’t do it.”

This is coming from the "High School" rapper who has been noted for her feuds with fellow starlet Mariah Carey and Lil' Kim.

One thing that is mature about Minaj, however, is her ability to block out what those haters have to say.

“I used to read the bad things people said about me,” said Minaj. “Then I asked myself, ‘Why am I reading that when I have millions of people saying great things?’ You cannot give negativity power.”

Minaj just did a Pennsylvania performance at Villanova University for the Hoops Mania festival. To kick off the start of the basketball season, she took the stage for 25 minutes to do her hit "Starships," "Moment 4 Life," "Beez in the Trap," "High School," and "I Wanna Be With You."
