T.O.P. Solo Album Rumors Coincide With Taeyang Comeback [VIDEOS]: Which American Boy Band Members Have Solo Albums?

As K-Pop boy bands continue to grow in popularity, more and more individual members are releasing solo albums during hiatus.

Most recently, K-Pop boy group Big Bang member G-Dragon has received critical and commercial acclaim for his solo album "Coup D'etat."

In addition, fellow boy band member Taeyang will have his long-awaited comeback this November. And now, it seems T.O.P. may have a solo album release as well.

"T.O.P, who has prepared for his solo track in secret, will be kicking off his solo activities mid-November. T.O.P's new music video is directed by Seo Hyun Seung," proclaims a source from YG according to Allkpop.

But individual boy band members like T.O.P. releasing a solo album is not just a trend in Korea. American boy bands, during their height of popularity, also saw individual promotional activities.

Here is a brief summary of boy band members who have released solo albums.

Justin Timberlake ('NSync)

Despite his enormous success with 'NSync, Justin Timberlake has since released four solo albums including "Justified," "FutureSex/LoveSounds," and "The 20/20 Experience."

Brian Littrell (Backstreet Boys)

The Backstreet Boys member released a solo album "Welcome Home" in 2006.

A. J. McLean (Backstreet Boys)

This Backstreet Boys member only released his album "Have It All" in Japan in 2010.

Nick Carter (Backstreet Boys)

Perhaps the most famous member of the Backstreet Boys, Nick Carter has released two solo albums, one in 2002 ("Now or Never") and 2011 ("I'm Taking Off").

Patrick Stump (Fall Out Boy)

The lead singer of Fall Out Boy has released on solo album titled "Soul Punk" and one EP titled "Truant Wave."

Jordan Knight (New Kids on the Block)

The veteran boy band singer has released four solo albums ranging from 1999 to 2011, with perhaps more to come.
