Zac Efron News 2013: Young Hollywood Star Play Cool Doc In Recently Released Deleted Scene From JFK Movie ‘Parkland’ Ahead Of DVD Launch

Zac Efron plays a cool doctor in a recently released deleted scene from the movie “Parkland” where E! News got an exclusive look at the cut footage. In it, the young Hollywood actor plays Dr. Jim Carrico, a real-life resident at Parkland Hospital in Dallas who was the first to treat Pres. Kennedy after Lee Harvey Oswald shot him.

In the deleted scene featured by E!, Zac Efron woke up from a nap at the hospital to answer a phone call.

“So on the menu today, we’ve got three routine evals and a special x-ray,” he explains to a fellow doctor while smoking a cigarette, noted E!

The special X-ray Zac’s character discussed was for a blood clot in the lungs. It was a coin toss between the two doctor that sends Dr. Carrico to the trauma room, where he eventually treated the slain president.

The recently released deleted scene was shown prior to the DVD launch of “Parkland” on November 5. The film centers on the three days surrounding the assassination of the John F. Kennedy.

“This day in history has never been examined this closely,” Zac told E! in an interview on the set.

“You've never had an inside like this. You're never been this close to probably the biggest American tragedy…I think we're making a real cool movie. So hopefully one to be watched for generations and to celebrate the man and the day and the heroes."

“Parkland” is directed by former journalist Peter Landesman who has always been enamored at the theories and conspiracies being floated around about those days as a when he was growing up.

“The three days are really shrouded in so much mystery and controversy with conspiracy theories,” Zac told E! News at the premiere of “Parkland.”

"Growing up, I didn't know what was fact or fiction. But the simple truths of what transpired that we know for a fact are all in this movie."

According to E! “Parkland” was the first film to hit theaters featuring Zac after the news broke that the former Disney sensation had gone through rehab earlier this year. His next movie, “That Awkward Moment” will hit theaters in January. He also has a movie “The Neighbors” co-starring Seth Rogen coming out in May next year.
