G-Dragon Wrote And Produced His Big Bang Bandmate Taeyang's New Solo Single 'Ringa Linga'

When Big Bang Taeyang singer debuts "Ringa Linga," his first solo single in three years, on Nov. 8, the track will also feature the composing skills of another member of the five-man vocal band.

A close friend of Taeyang since the two were 13-year-old trainee's together, Big Bang frontman G-Dragon wrote and produced "Ringa Linga."

The song is the title track off of Taeyang's new album, his second as a solo artist.

In a press release published on YG Entertainment's website on Friday, a representative for Big Bang's record label explained why G-Dragon's active role in Taeyang's new single is noteworthy.

"As a producer, G-Dragon has composed countless songs for Big Bang and also for himself, but him being involved in writing and composing the song for Taeyang's title track is unprecedented," the rep said.

"Taeyang and G-Dragon's friendship goes way back to 13 years ago, when they were just young boys of 13 who were recruited at YG Entertainment.  Fans are excited to see what the symbol of 13-year-old friendship would look like when it is reborn as a song."

2013 has been a big year for Big Bang solo releases so far, with singer Seungri's solo album "Let's Talk About Love" dropping in August and G-Dragon's wildly successful double album "Coup D'Etat coming out in September.

And with T.O.P. joining his bandmates solo career efforts with a new album and music video in mid-November, it's shaping up to be even bigger.

T.O.P. will become the fourth member of Big Bang to release a solo album this year, making Daesung the only member of the group not to drop his own record in 2013.

Big Bang kicks off their Dome Tour of Japan on Nov. 16 at the Seibu Dome in Tokorozawa City, opening up for the group will be YG's newly crowned boy band WINNER.

The group was formed as a result of the South Korean television reality show "WIN: Who Is Next?" where fans voted between two competing teams to determine the next YG Entertainment boy band.

WINNER singer Lee Seung Hoon only hopes his band can have the kind of run Big Bang has had, according to the website allkpop.

"The Big Bang members are icons that have reached the top level in the K-pop scene," Lee said.

"Like Big Bang, I hope [WINNER can go] from just being artists to a team that leads the culture of Korea and the rest of Asia."

According to YG Entertainment, Big Bang is scheduled to return to the recording studio for a new full-band album after wrappping up their Japanese tour. The band also plans to record a new song in the next couple of weeks, slated for release by the end of the year.
