YG Entertainment CEO Yang Hyun Suk Ponders The Future Of Team B: Will The Losers Of 'WIN: Who Is Next?' Get 1 More Shot?

He had to know this could happen.

Facing increasing fan pressure, YG Entertainment CEO Yang Hyun Suk has revealed he is considering allowing the losing group, Team B, from the TV reality show "WIN: Who Is Next?" to premiere along with the winning team, now appropriately named WINNER.

In a special episode released on the YG Entertainment website on Friday, Yang, who previously vowed that the losing team on the televised boy band contest his label created would be disbanded, claims he was forced to rethink his plan when he experienced "WIN: Who Is Next?" as a viewer.

"Seeing that the trainees and I had so little shared feelings, I used to govern them objectively and coldly before the reality program 'WIN: Who Is Next' started," Yang said.

"However, I also started to feel affection towards them after listening to and watching 'WIN' like a member of the audience.  I should have been very happy on this day because the debuting team had been decided, but my heart felt sad thinking of the team that had lost...it is regrettable and a shame."

The K-pop record mogul says he is considering several ways that Team B could potentially get a second life, but he is currently is out of ideas.

"There must be many courses we could take, but currently, my mind is a blank.  As I listened to the many different opinions of Team B's fans, I will try my best to go down the best path."

Allkpop reader GirlKpopFan recalled the emotional season finale and pleaded with Yang to give Team B another shot.

"I cried so much!" she wrote on Thursday. "I´m happy for Team A, they have talent, but I hope Team B can debut. They deserve it. Both teams are amazing, and worked so hard for this. Please debut Team B."

But "WIN: Who Is Next?" viewer Judyi feels Yang should stick to his original promise of disbanding the losing team.

"For the people still hurt about Team B losing, stop," Judyi wrote.

"This could be a blessing in disguise. They are already known, already loved, already being called upon. But they needed this too. It can be a wake up call. I wondered if they might get arrogant in the future. This can be a learning experience. They will try harder, improve even more, reach for higher limits. They are young, and we can see they are going to dream nonetheless. Let's wait, and pray that their time to shine comes soon."

Reader WhoAhU believes the whole show was rigged.

"To those who thought it was a fair show, you've got to be kidding me," he wrote.

"The show's intention from the beginning was to showcase Team A and make them the narrators of this story (i.e.: doing poorly and getting an encouraging banner and a meal from YG, longer background stories, focusing on their losses and their wins). That said, it's not Team A's fault for having a show that was unfair from the start, it's YG's fault.

In light of what he perceives as interference from the record label, WhoAhU believes it would be unfair for Yang to not give Team B a second chance.

"Some of Team B's trainees have been training much longer than Team A's and you can't expect [YG] to just jail them away for another four years."
