Kpop star BoA turns 26 today. The Queen of Korean Pop was born Kwon Boa in in Gyeonggi-do, South Korea, and became Beat of Angel. BoA.

BoA went on to Kpop stardom after she was unleashed onto the world by SM Entertainment talent agents. BoA trained for two years before she put out her debut Korean album “ID; Peace B.” in 2000. It peaked at Number 10.

Two years later, BoA put out her first Japanese album, “Listen to My Heart.” BoA was the first Korean pop star to break through in Japan since the end of World War II.

And then it was on to conquer America. BoA put out the single “Eat You Up” on October 14, 2008 and put out first English-language album, “BoA” in March the next year.

The Queen of Korean Pop is popular worldwide. BoA speaks and sings in Japanese and English. She recorded songs in Mandarin Chinese.

BoA is one of only three artists to have six consecutive number-one studio albums on the Oricon charts since her debut. The other two are Ayumi Hamasaki and Koda Kumi.
