Is FIESTAR a Multi-national Idol Group? Comeback with 'Curious'

When they debuted earlier this year with 'Vista', FIESTAR's image was powerful and rather masculine. This time, they're coming back with 'Curious', which is based on the nursery rhyme 'One Little Indian' and rebranding themselves with femininity. The song is about a girl who is curious about love.

Their powerful dance move from 'Vista' nowhere to be seen, FIESTAR came back dressed in short skirts and cute wool hats. They're excited like little girls because they're able to finally showcase their girly side. FIESTAR members discussed thoroughly about their preparation for this mini album.

Jei stated, "We were breaking our backs last time to show off our dance moves, but this time our focus isn't so much to showcase our skills but to display us as girls - cute and sexy. We needed a lot of research to be sexy. (Laughter)"

Yezi stated, "We only wore sneakers and dressed loosely last time, but we have to wear tight, womanly clothes this time. Naturally, most of our attention went to see how we can improve our appearance. A lot of my high school friends said that we were scary before, but I'm expecting them to completely change their reactions with this single."

When FIESTAR debuted, they were touted as a multi-national idol group. Cheska is a Korean-American, and Cao Lu is Chinese. Despite their different upbringings in different countries, however, because they have spent many years in Korea as trainees, they were comfortable in Korea. FIESTAR confessed that they express surprise when they hear people saying that FIESTAR is an multi-national idol group. The members communicate with each other in flawless Korean, and they even enjoy the same food. The only big difference is that their sense of humor differs slightly.

Yezi explained, "Sometimes Chezka and Cao Lu are able to laugh at jokes that we don't understand. But for the most part, we're all so similar that it's hard to see Chezka and Cao Lu was non-Korean members. Chezka didn't like Korean food at first, but now she's an aficionado of Korean food. She loves Kimchee. We only become aware that we're a multi-national group when people tell us that we are a multi-national group."

FIESTAR's popularity goes hand in hand with their YouTube program, "A-HA". They produced the program themselves to teach non-Korean speakers Korean. They've been hitting 600,000 views per video. They revealed that they are working on a second season.

Jei explained, "We're a 'global' group to many people's eyes, so we wanted to appeal to our international fans appropriately and made the 'A-HA' program. We didn't know that it would be this popular. It's a self-produced show, and we even bought all the props for the show."

Cao Lu continued, "We're in the process of creating the second season of 'A-HA'. I was encouraged because of lot of Chinese fans left messages in Chinese for us. We're very happy because of our fans."
