After a three year solo absence, Big Bang's Taeyang makes a strong return with the release the dance version of Ringa Linga. Taeyang, whose strongest point in Big Bang has been dance and R&B, has his best assets highlighted with this release. YG Entertainment wisely released the dance sequence video prior to the music video, which provides Taeyang with an opportunity to showcase his talent.

Although, the song is very much within the dubstep genre, Taeyang incorporates his background in hip hop dance to create sequences which are very much based within street performance. This contrasts to the choreography normally witnessed within Big Bang, which is often simplified to compensate for the overall dance level of the group. The interesting aspect of this is that although this is a song which was produced by Big Bang front man, G-Dragon, Taeyang provides a commanding performance, both visually and vocally on Ringa Linga.

The initial hip hop sequences of the song create a sense that Ringa Linga could have very much been at home on G-Dragon's solo release, Coup D'Tat. However, the contrast of the music with the vocals at chorus is all Taeyang, allowing him to distinguish himself musically.

After the musical drop in Ringa Linga, which is almost always omnipresent in dubstep, Taeyang delivers strong vocals. His voice, on the track, is not overpowered by the music, which can sometimes happen with the genre. Although, this is not the R&B inspired sound which dominated hit singles I Need A Girl and Wedding Dress.

With G-Dragon currently working in production with Skrillex and CL on an upcoming music video, it will be interesting to find out how Taeyang's comeback fits in with this K-Pop meets dubstep revolution. Ringa Linga proves dubstep has a very strong place in K-Pop and that Taeyang is ready to lead the revolution. Now, it is time to start attempting to learn the very complicated choreography and wait for the release of the full music video, which will occur at 0:00 on November 9^th.
