2NE1 fans have been waiting for an official comeback from the YG ladies, and thanks to a sudden appearance announcement for the MAMA 2013 Awards, the rumors have come back in full force.

On November 12, 2NE1 suddenly announced an appearance at the 2013 Mnet Asian Music Awards (MAMA) despite being relatively inactive the last two months.

Without further plans later on in the year, many fans are predicting their MAMA appearance will in fact be their comeback stage for a new single, and perhaps even their long-awaited album.

2NE1’s new song will be releasing a new song next week, and will have their comeback performances immediately following it on Nov 22 at MAMA

"Before our (summer) comeback we continuously recorded songs, maintained our health by working out and decided what kind of items and concepts we should wear and do for our new single. We were working hard to prepare for the album," said Bom during a recent interview with Dazed Digital.

"As much as our fans have been waiting for us, we also couldn't wait to release new material," added Minzy.

"I can assure you that you will see the fierce 2NE1 that you have seen on our past releases but also a more developed and evolved 2NE1. We've definitely evolved on this album and can't wait for everyone to hear it," said CL.

To add fuel to the comeback rumors, 2NE1 leader CL recently posted a mysterious Instagram photo which possibly hinted at a music video set.

In the photo, fans can clearly make out an "XXI," the roman numeral for 21. With the lighting equipment, this clearly looks like a music video set, and Blackjacks are desperately hoping it is in fact for their delayed comeback.
