When I read the news my heart dropped to the ground. Surely our Minzy did not succumb to the societal demands of beauty and go under the knife! Even after reading articles and comments, I still wasn't convinced until I saw her performance on KBS 1's "Open Music Concert." It was then I saw that our Minzy wasn't the same physical Minzy we all knew and fell in love with.

What prompted Minzy to get a nose job and/or fix her jawline? Was it her decision? Was she not happy with what she looked like all her life? Did she made the choice of doing this? Did she just want to simply be prettier? Did she want to live up to the idea of K-pop beauty? So many questions that we will never know the answer to. The sad part of all this is that Minzy was adorable and beautiful before she decided to get some things fixed up. But who am I to judge? I suppose if I lived in a society where everyone and their mothers had plastic surgeons on their speed dial, I would possibly fix my bubble nose or my wide jawline. All in all, new nose or not, it doesn't change the fact that Minzy is insanely talented.

Though I am disappointed at her decision to do this, I wonder for most women who go under the knife where it all stops? Minzy's fellow partner in crime, Park Bom, is known for her innumerable number of surgeries and just when you think her face has had enough, she snips and snaps elsewhere on her nose, chin, and eyes.

If Minzy's happy, then as Blackjacks we should be happy for her. Hopefully this last visit to Dr. Kim was surely the last.
