Yunyega Jung gye’s report on Big Bang’s Comeback: Appropriate or Judgmental?

The popular KBS show has caught eyes with its report of Big Bang's comeback.

On the February 25th episode, they reported Big Bang's comeback under the headline "Big Bang: have they really been forgiven?" and raised the question of the timing of the group's return.

Big Bang had previously received a lot of attention due to G-Dragon's drug incident and Dae Sung's car accident. When the group announced their return not a year after such events, netizens had questioned the group's timing.

This was exactly the question brought up in the show. They allotted about 15 minutes to explore this question, showing clips of interview with the mother of Dae Sung's car accident victim who testified that "Dae Sung never even visited us at the funeral. We've never received any kind of compensation from YG Entertainment." Apparently this interview had taken place under the presence of the victim's entire family including his brother, parents, and aunt. They had all signed the consent form and agreed to the interview.

The show proceeded to reveal that according to a survey of 1071 Seoul citizens, 63.6% had expressed that it was too early for Big Bang to come back.

Netizens have expressed different opinions regarding the show. Some argue that this was a rational and logical analysis of the situation while other contend that it was just a cheesy revenge due to the tense relations between YG and KBS which started when YG opted to miss the annual KBS award ceremony in 2010.
