SNSD Sooyoung is to make her first acting challenge as an actress in a drama. Sooyoung has casted as one of the main character in the upcoming medical drama 'The 3rd Hospital' along with Kim Seongwoo, Oh Jiho, and Kim Minjung.

'The 3rd Hospital' will be produced by Taewon Entertainment that made popular drama such as 'Iris' and 'Athena' before and drama will be broadcasted in tvN.

Drama will portray a showdown between western and eastern medicine within one hospital. It will be Korea’s first advanced medical drama and plans to pave the new concept of drama genres in Korea.

Sooyoung will be playing the role as a lovely violist in the drama and she became successful after coming back from the US where she left after her mother's death. She is in relationship with Oh Jiho, and will have love square relationship between Kim Seungwoo and Kim Minjung.

SM Entertainment said, "Sooyoung's experience of acting in the movie 'Hello, Schoolgirl' there are bigger expectations for her new role. She has wanted to act and therefore has a big passion for acting."

'The 3rd Hospital' will begin pre-production early April, and is scheduled for broadcast at the end of July through tvN.
