As "Game of Thrones" season 4 looms ever closer, the set photos reveal much of what fans can expect from the HBO series this season.

We see many returning faces like Emilia Clarke as Daenerys and Peter Dinklage as Tyrion Lannister. We see fire, blood, and action. The set photos of "Game of Thrones" season 4 have fans even more excited about the upcoming series.

"I think that's one of the key things of 'Game of Thrones,' which is to take characters that you loved for three of four years and then butcher them brutally," says Neil Marshall, who will be directing the penultimate episode of "Game of Thrones."

"Yeah, there's a bit of drama and tragedy in my episode so I'm sure there is for the rest of the season as well." 

One particular set piece that has fans excited is what is being dubbed The Purple Wedding, not to be confused with the Red Wedding in "Game of Thrones" season 3.

"It's going to be the wedding of the year, and as memorable in its own way as our wedding last season..." says author George R.R. Martin. "It's what the fans call the Purple Wedding, based on the color of the wine, which plays a big part." 

Reportedly, filming for "Game of Thrones" season 4 has completed, so fans can expect a trailer for the series sometime in the near future.
