K-Pop Crossover [VIDEO]: Nylon Pink Covers BoA’s Every Heart In New Video; Inuyasha Anime Hit Gets Hard Rock Treatment

Nylon Pink, who have been described as "the only all-Asian American female band in the United States" just put out a hard rocking cover of Kpop star BoA's ballad "Every Heart." Nylon Pink tears through the song, which closes every episode of the hit anime Inuyasha.

"Every Heart: Minna no Kimochi" was BoA's fifth single. It was featured as the fourth ending theme song on the hit anime, "Inuyasha." Nylon Pink's version opens with the heavy bass riff of Katt Lee before the band kicks in. Jamie Scoles' drums are so heavy on this song they could be a lead instrument, driving the song to an propulsive explosion of melodic beauty.

Kaila Yu, the lead singer of Nylon Pink, takes a very pretty melody and makes it hard pop magic. The original BoA version was cut in Korean and later released in Japanese on her debut Japanese album "Listen to My Heart." Nylon Pink drives the song home for American audiences with English lyrics. Kiki Wongo's lead guitar blasts it into overdrive.

Nylon Pink is a Hollywood band formed in 2008 by by Kaila Yu and Katt Lee. Nylon Pink fuses pop, punk and rock for a sound that's been called "Hello Kitty on Acid."

"Every Heart" isn't the first Kpop song that Nylon Pink has translated to guitar-pop. They recently covered 2NE1's "Lonely," and also covered that band's "I Am The Best." They put driving rhythms behind Girls Generation's "Run Devil Run" Hyuna's hit "Ice Cream" and Big Bang's "Blue."

BoA is a South Korean singer who debuted in 2000 with the album "ID; Peace B." She moves as easily between languages as she does between dance and pop hits and ballads.

InuYasha is a Japanese manga series written and illustrated by Rumiko Takahashi. It premiered in Weekly Shōnen Sunday on November 13, 1996 and concluded on June 18, 2008. It made its Anime debut in Oct. 2000 and has since spawned feature films.
