Trouble Maker Caught Making Trouble Again, This Time for Their Wardrobe Choice

K-Pop duo Trouble Maker are used to creating controversy for their sexy concepts and dance moves, but this time they both caused an uproar for wearing hooded sweatshirts.

In a picture uploaded to the official Twitter for SBS MTV's The Show, HyunA and Hyunseung wore matching sweatshirts with a graphic design on them. One of the images depicted appears to resemble the Japanese Rising Sun flag, thus causing an enormous reaction from Korean net users.

The image shows a rather coy looking woman holding a baton with a red rose at the top. Radiating from the flower are red sunbeams, very similar to the Rising Sun which shows a red circle with the same sort of lines stretching out from it.

The picture upset many in South Korea who find the Japanese military flag offensive due to a long and brutal history of imperialism.

The flag was used by the Japanese during their conquest and occupation of many areas in East and Southeast Asia, and despite its wide-range of uses in the modern day, many people in the former colonies still find it insulting and disrespectful.

According to their agency, CUBE Entertainment, Trouble Maker had no intention of making trouble with their wardrobe selection and were not intentionally or unintentionally displaying the Rising Sun.

One rep for the duo explained to OSEN, "The image on Trouble Maker's clothes is not of the Rising Sun, but of a flower bud."

The agency rep did, however, express apologies for giving everyone the wrong idea. "Seeing that a misunderstanding has arisen, we apologize for not having paid closer attention to the details of their outfits."

The Show has since removed the photo from their Twitter.
