K-Pop Holiday Album Guide 2013

As EXO gets ready to release their special winter EP, Miracle of December, many other K-Pop stars have already gotten a jump on the holiday season.

On November 29, EXO's agency, SM Entertainment, announced the plan to release Miracle of December through the SMTOWN official Facebook page, instantly getting a tremendous response from excited fans - but they are not the only ones getting in the holiday spirit.

In the last week, lots of our favorite stars have been giving their fans special holiday treats, and they are just as varied and wonderful as one would expect them to be.

Perhaps one of the greatest compilation albums for this holiday season is Blue Christmas, a six-track EP from some of Korean hip-hop's finest released on November 28.

The album starts off with "Snow" by BYZ and Adam to set the winter spirit mood. The ladies Tymee and Ma Soo Hye take things over with their "Song That's Good for Winter" before famed speed rapper Outsider delivers a nice tune in the title track "Blue Christmas" featuring vocals by Ma Soo Hye.

2TAK chimes in next with some beatboxing on "World X Medley" followed by DOZ's smooth R&B track titled "Christmas Baby." The album then finishes off with "Tell Me Your Wish," a song featuring all the participating artists.

J-Walk, a pop duo made up of two former Sechs Kies members Jang Su Won and Kim Jae Duk, released their special winter track "First Snow" on November 29. It is a sweet pop song that captures the feelings of wintertime love.

Acoustic R&B jazz band Urban Zakapa has also jumped on the holiday bandwagon and dropped their pre-release track "When Winter Comes" ahead of the release of their third full length album 03 on December 3. It is a sweet, heartfelt winter ballad with soft piano and strong vocals.

Of course, quirky girl group Crayon Pop has also given their fans a bit of the yuletide cheer with the release of a special holiday single "Lonely Christmas." While it is a much less serious Christmas song than other releases this year, it is certainly catchy, especially the 'Nananananana' hook.

EXO's special holiday treat will be released on December 9 in two versions, one Korean and one Chinese.

SM has not offered up many details about the album other than it having been recorded in two languages and will be winter themed, but the promotional photo suggests a Christmas carol or two will likely be included.

EXO fans are already getting ready to celebrate the holidays with their favorite idols with the group's release of a Miracle of December album preview a couple days ago.

In addition to all the great songs above, many other Korean singers are preparing for holiday concerts and specials, so stay tuned for more K-Pop holiday updates!
