It's a holiday tradition for the Kardashians that almost didn't happen.

First, estranged husband Bruce Jenner almost had to beg after momager Kris Jenner agreed with risqué photographer David LaChappelle to leave out the former Olympian gold medalist from the photoshoot.

Then the photographer also balked at the idea of bringing Kourtney Kardashian's two kids, Mason and Penelope, to the photoshoot. Kourtney  put her foot down and LaChappelle finally agreed.

What LaChappele envisioned was a Christmas card involving only women in the Kardashian and Jenner family.

All the drama can be seen during the behind the scene that was shown in "Keeping Up with the Kardashians: A Very Merry Christmas" special which aired Sunday.

After a long discussion, Bruce was finally allowed to be included in the annual Kardashian Christmas card.

But the photographer still wins since you really have to look for Bruce amid the splash of neon and magazines featuring the Kardashians. The photo is seen to be a homage to pop culture which the family owes it fame to.

(Hint: he's to your right, encased in glass near silver sculpture).

The Christmas card also showed the most famous family member, Kim, and her post-delivery bod. Clad in a body-hugging YSL dress with a plunging neckline and a very high slit, Kim dominated the whole photo with the photographer obviously making her bigger than everybody else.

Kris Jenner was also a dominant figure, which seems appropriate since she's the one footing the bill.

Last year, Kourtney's partner, Scott Disick, Kim's husband, basketball star Lamar Odom, and Rob Kardashian were included in the photo as the family were dressed in immaculate white.

But so much has happened since then. Odom entered rehab for a drug addiction while Bruce and Kris separated. Rob, meanwhile, presumably opted out of the photo after entering a weight loss clinic.
