LC9 Shares About Their Music Inspirations And Upcoming Plans In Press Conference In Singapore

LC9 stands for League of Competition, a boyband from Nega Network, consists of 6 members: leader and vocalist Rasa, main rapper E.Den, lead vocalist and rapper J-Hyo, main vocalist King, vocalist and rapper Jun and main dancer, maknae AO. Their group name LC9 stands for League of Competition, since there are many boy groups in South Korea, they are going to become the survivors in the competitive Kpop industry.

Before their showcase in Singapore on November 30, they held a press conference in Shangri-La Rasa Sentosa Resort. As LC9 only debuted in May this year, this was their first overseas trip officially as a group. The English-speaking member from Canada, E.Den was the first to speak about their thoughts on their first overseas event, "We feel honoured to be here, Singapore seems very natural and it is a breath of fresh air from where we are from."

When asked about which artists inspire them, J-Hyo answered singer-songwriter Bruno Mars, as he learnt more about pop songs from foreign singers through his songs. E.Den said "I have been interested in rap since young, one of the inspirations and rappers that I look up to is Drake." King's role models are Jason Derulo and Guy Sebastian. Jun's inspiration is SHINee, as they are good-looking and are good at singing live. Rasa replied "I am motivated by Brian McKnight when I first started out my career in the music industry, now I am interested in performances, so my motivation is Chris Brown." AO answered, "Monday Kiz and SG Wannabe, as they have very good ballad songs, so I get to learn more about the emotional aspects of songs." LC9 members clearly have different tastes in music, ranging from rap to ballads.

For their showcase later in the evening, Jun revealed that they have prepared performances that they had never shown before and Love Beats cans look forward to their performances.

During the press conference, LC9 also shared their upcoming plans. AO said they are going to Indonesia for a showcase in January and they have more overseas events in future. As regards to their comeback, King disclosed that they are in the midst of choosing songs for their new album, which is estimated to be released before March next year.

Regarding collaborations with their label-mates Brown Eyed Girls or Lunafly, J-Hyo said, "We are planning to have collaboration with either of them for the Christmas season. I think it's probably Christmas carols?"

With that, the press conference drew to a close and we look forward to more overseas events for LC9 as well as their upcoming collaboration with their seniors from Nega Network.
