Psy's Record Breaking 'Gentleman' MV Earns TIME Magazine's Distinction as 2013's Most Viral Video

When South Korean pop icon Psy released "Gentleman," his follow-up to the mega hit "Gangnam Style" in April, people all over the world world asked themselves if he would be able to ever top his first international hit.

As it turned out, while the video did not achieve the same kind of success as its predecessor, "Gentleman" achieved success in its own right, setting a string of records - most notably most YouTube views in a single 24-hour period.

The music video paired with Psy's sophomore international single follows the singer as he performs a series of not-so-gentlemanly acts and features another K-Pop icon, the ultra-sexy Brown Eyed Girls member GaIn, whose group originated the hip-swivel dance move used for "Gentleman."

For these reasons, TIME Magazine named Psy's "Gentleman" music video the number one viral video of 2013 as part of their year-end Best of Everything series.

The Top 10 Viral Videos of 2013 are as varied as the internet itself, with Psy narrowly beating out second place holder Ylvis, as the only true music videos on the list (shout out to the astronaut performing David Bowie's "Space Oddity" while actually in outer space).

The rest of TIME's list is filled with local news clips, an uplifting speech, poignant social commentary, and the wonders of universe - and of course, a few laughs (and goat screams) at Taylor Swift's expense.

And while the "Gentleman" craze may have come and gone, its impact on the internet and our lives this year lives on as Psy rightfully sits on the throne as the winner of 2013's most viral video.
