Fan Takes Jang Yun Jeong To Court, Orders 'Eomeona' Singer To Apologize To Her Mother, Claims He'll Strip In Public If Lying

In what has become a strong last minute contender for the strangest K-pop legal spectacle of 2013, a fan of Jang Yun Jeong has filed a complaint with police in the South Korean city of Yongin, demanding the semi-trot singer tells her own mother she's sorry for alleging the family cleaned out her showbiz earnings.

According to the Munhwa Broadcasting Corporation program "Good Day," a man named Mr. Song initially claiming to be the former president of the Jang Yoon Jung fan club, filed the police complaint on Oct. 22.

"Jang Joon Young [verbally] assaulted her mother," Song said in a recent interview, according to the publication Koogle.tv.

"Her mother [Yook Heung Bok] wrote her many letters and tried to contact her, but [Jang Yoon Jung] did not respond at all. So I felt a responsibility as her fan club president and made the complaint in hopes of grasping at the wronged family's history right away at least through the law."

Song claimed that if his accusations against the singer, best known for her 2004 hit single "Eomeona," were proven to have no merit, he would fling off his clothes near the main gate of Seoul's Gyeongbokgung Palace.

"If what I said turns out to be untrue, I will go to the middle of Gwanghamun [gate] in my underwear, ask for forgiveness and be resigned to accept whatever responsibility I have legally," he said.

Last week, Yook was called in to testify in Song's complaint hearing.

Jang's mother has threatened her own legal proceedings against the singer and her record label because of comments made on the May 20 episode of the Seoul Broadcasting System program "Healing Camp Aren't You Happy," that her family had badly mismanaged her finances leaving her badly in debt.

"I lost all of the money that I made and I currently have debt in the hundreds of thousands of dollars," Jang said in the now infamous "Healing Camp" interview.

"I gave all of the money I made after my debut to my parents but after my parents got divorced, I was going through my 10 years worth of savings and discovered that it all disappeared and the only thing I had left were debts."

Back in July, as Yook threatened to pursue a $600,000 lawsuit against her daughter and Neowiz Internet, Jang's mother mused to a news reporter from the tvN network that it was probably the label that led to the family blowout.

"Jang Yoon Jung and her agency claimed that my son and I squandered Jang Yoon Jung's fortune, but that is not true," Yook said.

"When I reflected on why this could have happened between me and my daughter, I realized that her record label [Neowiz Internet]  had something to do with it."

Jang's mother claims her loan of $650,000 to the CEO of Neowiz, which he has yet to repay, is the real reason for her daughter's financial problems.

But for Song, who has since admitted he was not actually the fan club president, but rather the administrator of an online fansite, it's just about getting Jang to admit she was wrong to accuse her family of ripping her off.

"Everything will end if she begs her mother for forgiveness," he said.
