Man of Steel 2, Batman Vs Superman Cast – Gal Gadot Is Officially Wonder Woman! ‘Fast and Furious’ Stunner Makes It A Superhero Trinity

The rumors have been confirmed. Speculation about the casting call for a female on the 'Batman Vs Superman' set (working title of the Man of Steel sequel) came to halt as it has been confirmed that Gal Gadot will play Wonder Woman.

The initial report was that Gal Gadot was one of three candidates who tested for the part. The others were Olga Kurylemko and Elodie Yung of "GI Joe Retaliation." At that time, it wasn't announced which specific part they were auditioning for.

Variety was the first to report that it was Wonder Woman, and that Gadot was the choice.

From director Zack Snyder: "Wonder Woman is arguably one of the most powerful female characters of all time and a fan favorite in the DC Universe. Not only is Gal an amazing actress, but she also has that magical quality that makes her perfect for the role. We look forward to audiences discovering Gal in the first feature film incarnation of this beloved character."

The official addition of Wonder Woman was welcomed by most, specifically female fans. There were some who welcomed having Wonder Woman but were rather skeptical about the choice of Gadot. They cited the physical aspects of the role with the Israeli bombshell being rather thin. However, that's usually not a major concern for Hollywood stars.

Warner Bros. is now looking to cast the villain. The report is that they are eyeing Callan Mulvey, who was in "Zero Dark Thirty" and "300: Rise Of An Empire" as an undetermined villain. "Rise of an Empire" is produced by director Zack Snyder and is the sequel to "300," the movie that catapulted him to prominence.

There is speculation that Warner Bros. is determined to fast track the "Justice League" movie. The Wonder Woman casting is their way of getting ahead of Marvel who has yet to establish a strong female presence in their movies.
