2PM Gets Ready to Drop Their 3rd Japanese Album on January 29

Six-member pop group 2PM are among JYP Entertainment's top stars with an enormous fan following around the world.

The group is especially popular in Japan where they will soon drop their third studio album, Genesis of 2PM.

The new release with be 2PM's third Japanese-language album release after 2011's Republic of 2PM and Legend of 2PM released in February of this year.

Genesis of 2PM is scheduled to hit shelves on January 29 and will come in three different versions - a regular album containing 13 tracks and two limited special editions that will include a bonus DVD in a special box set.

In the past three years, 2PM has released eight successful Japanese singles, the last one being "Winter Games." "Winter Games" was also the group's first hit to reach number one on Japan's definitive Oricon music chart as well as the Billboard J-Pop Hot 100.

Also earlier this year 2PM dropped "Give Me Love" in Japan, a track that rose to the number 2 spot on Oricon and number three on the Billboard ranking.

They first debuted in Japan with the single "Take Off" in May 2011 and the song was featured for the ending of the Blue Exorcist anime series. The song was highly anticipated and ranked number one on Tower Records' pre-order chart.

2PM's newest project is expected to create a similar reaction among Japanese fans.
