Paul Rudd On SNL Season 39 Is One Direction Number One Fan Dan Charles, Trumps 1D Fangirl Confessions, ‘You Don’t Know Your Basic Facts, No No’

Paul Rudd on SNL season 36, Episode 8 played host to guests One Direction band members.

The 'Nine Directions', comprising  Paul,  One Directions members, Paul Rudd and fellow Anchorman 2 stars Will Ferrell, Steve Carell and David Koechner, sang the famous song 'Afternoon Delight,' to the delight of in-studio and television audience.

Before that, the young boys band performed the popular singles 'Story of my Life' and 'Through the Dark' from their new album 'Midnight Memories.'

The funniest part of last night's Saturday Night Live! was the SNL sketch, in which Paul Rudd played Dan Charles, One Direction's number one fan.

The One Directioner Rudd mingled with die-hard fangirls who gushed over Niall and wanting to marry Zyan Malik. Perhaps they have already accepted that Harry Styles is dating Kim Kardashian sister Kendell Jenner!

With his brilliant sense of humor and immaculate timing, Rudd Dan Charles trumped the teenage fangirls on their One Direction knowledge, 'oh oh, You Don't your Basic Facts, No No'

Also expect Rudd to correct them with hilarious quips. The Dan Charles skit triggered 'We're all Dan Charles' Twitter reaction from 1D fans, even as 1DonSNL, Paul Rudd and Dan Charles continued to trend through the better part of Sunday.

The SNL fans must have enjoyed every bit of good-natured jibes Anchormen levied at One Direction lads, with Steve Carell topping it with, "Why don't you kids go sit on Santa's lap and ask for a pair of balls."

For the cold open segment, the SNL cast parodied ABC's Sound of Music Live!, which was aired earlier this week and watched by more than 18 million viewers.

SNL alums Kristen Wiig and Fred Armisen joined the spoof on Captain von Trapp and Maria's love story. Wiig played while Armisen appeared as Lawrence Welk.
