Johnny Cash, whose death in 2003 left a hole in country music, will have new material coming in 2014. The legendary country music singer-songwriter Johnny Cash recorded these songs 30 years ago and they were just found while his son was cataloguing songs from the "Folsom Prison Blues" singer's archive.

The country music icon Johnny Cash died at the age of 71 on September 12, 2003 in a Nashville, Tennessee hospital. There are two duets with his wife June Carter Cash on the album. The album will include a dozen newly discovered recordings made three decades ago.  Sony Music's Legacy Recordings said the record will be released next year as an album.

The new Johnny Cash album will be called "Out Among the Stars" and it will drop on March 25. This will be the first time these recordings will be available to the public.

Johnny wrote two of the 12 songs. Cash recorded the tracks for Columbia Records in Nashville, Tenn., in 1981 and in 1984. Columbia never released them and dropped Cash from the label in 1986. Cash is backed by musicians Hargus 'Pig' Robbins and a friend of Cash's named Marty Stuart. Stuart re-record his parts for re-mastered release.

The collection of lost songs by Johnny Cash, "Out Among the Stars, is set to hit shelves in March 2014. John Carter Cash, Johnny Cash's son, found the recordings found in 2012 when he and otherCash experts were cataloging Cash's song archive.

For the album The Man In Black teamed up with country music producer Billy Sherrill. Cash's son John told AP that Columbia "never threw anything away. They kept everything in their lives. They had an archive that had everything in it from the original audio tapes from 'The Johnny Cash Show' to random things like a camel saddle, a gift from the prince of Saudi Arabia."

"Out Among the Stars" will include three duets, besides the two Johnny recorded with his wife June Carter Cash, Cash also collaborated with Waylon Jennings.

Cash was more than a country singer, he was an American folk hero. He had a his 49-year career and cultivated an outlaw persona, he recorded with Willie Nelson and Kris Kristopherson among other country outlaws and performed at U.S. prisons. Cash, himself, had been an inmate.

His son said "Dad was always uniquely himself. He never modified himself. But Nashville at the time was in a completely different place. Johnny Cash is in the very prime of his voice for his lifetime. He's pitch perfect. It's seldom where there's more than one vocal take."

The album will be released on March 24th 2014. Out Among the Stars is one of several projects to commemorate the 10th anniversary of Cash's death.
