Johnny Depp Movie Makes Him Strip Pants And Dye Hair Blonde To Get Into Character?

Johnny Depp, 50, was caught on cam in London with his pants to his ankles, revealing printed boxers and bright red socks.

No, the Bobbies weren't called this time as Johnny was just filming a scene for his upcoming movie entitled "Mortdecai".

In the film, Johnny plays Charles Mortdecai, an art dealer who's trying to find a stolen painting said to contain a code that would lead to a Nazi bank account filled with gold. He will battle an international terrorist and the Russians in the race toward the gold. Throw in some British Mi5 in there and some eye candy for good measure.

The film, an adaptation of the The Mortdecai Trilogy written by Kyril Bonfiglioli, is billed to be an action-comedy, a role that Johnny has down pat. It also stars Ewan McGregor, Gwyneth Paltrow, Olivia Munn and Paul Bethany.

Johnny really went all out for the role, dying his hair blonde which was seen by the public at the British Film Institute Fellowship when he presented Christopher Lee with an award as a horror icon.

Mortdecai is directed by David Koepp whom Depp worked with for the 2004 film "Secret Window." That movie wasn't as well received by the viewers and critics unlike Johnny's portrayal of a roguish pirate, Jack Sparrow, in the series "Pirates of the Carribean."

Even if the details of the film remain sketchy, it is expected that Johnny will introduce nuance into the fictional character. The actor has been known to play offbeat characters such as The Mad Hatter in "Alice in Wonderland," Tonto in "The Lone Ranger," and Willie Wonka in "Charlie and the Chocolate Factory."

Johnny's next film also has him playing the big bad wolf in the movie adaptation of the musicale, "Into the Woods." Maybe next time, he won't be wearing any underwear.
