Demi Lovato "Cant Back Down"! Talks About Smuggling ‘Coke’ In Airplanes And The Moment That Changed Her Life

Demi Lovato cant back down now. The singer finally came clean with the extent of her drug problem that she'd risk her celebrity status and a date with jail by smuggling cocaine into airplanes just so she could get her fix.

The 21-year-old "X Factor" USA judge told Access Hollywood that she couldn't go even for just 30 minutes or one hour without taking cocaine.

She narrated: "I would smuggle it basically and just wait until everyone in first class would go to sleep and I would do it right there. I'd sneak to the bathroom and I'd do it."

Demi has gotten so good about hiding her addiction that she was able to fool even close friends and relatives who were watching her every move. The singer and actress has published a book, "Staying Strong: 365 Days a Year" (Feiwel & Friends) which is surprisingly doing very well in online store, Amazon.

She described herself as somebody who is very good at manipulating people, and she used that to her advantage. "That was something that I did in my disease, I would manipulate everyone around me. There were times I would just continue to lie, so that everything looked OK on the outside."

At just 19, she had an "a-ha" moment when she looked around and there was nobody else but her. That's when she realized she was no longer the "rebellious" and party girl, she was a woman with a problem.

"I was going to the airport and I had a Sprite bottle just filled with vodka and it was just nine in the morning and I was throwing up in the car and this was just to get on a plane to go back to LA to the sober living house that I was staying at," Semi Lovato recounted.

"When I hit that moment I was like, it's no longer fun when you're doing it alone," she added.
