Eryka Badu's Givenchy Pose Creates A Buzz! Fully Clothed Singer Is The Face Of The Famous Brand's Spring Collection

Grammy winner Erykah Badu did not go naked this time, but she did create a buzz after she was named as the face for Givenchy's Spring Collection.

The last time Grammy winner Erykah Badu made headlines was when she was charged and fined for getting naked for her video "Window Seat" in 2010. In the video, she stripped off and faked being shot in the head on the spot where JFK was assassinated.

This time, however, she was fully covered in print and patterns from head to toe, following the concept of creative director Riccardo Tisci.

Badu told Dallas Morning News: "Riccardo's a fan of my style. "He told me he really wanted to work with me because he had a special campaign he designed for me. He sent me some of the photos, and I was super-honored; I didn't take it for granted."

She gushed about Riccardo's not just because of his eye for excellence but also "because of his spirit."

"He wants to give models of color an opportunity, and he chose me as the face for that campaign because he told me I fit what he wanted to represent," she added.

Givenchy's Spring Collection is probably the most diverse yet, but are predominantly Asian and African influences. Joining her are Asia Chow, Maria Borges, Dominik Bauer and Riley.

In a statement, Tisci said: "My family portfolio concept is carrying on. This season, I decided to invite my dream icon, the respected Erykah Badu, to my stage.

"As well as the young beauty Asia Chow, talent of tomorrow. And my new discoveries: Black goddesses Maria Borges and Riley and model Dominik Bauer. I am very happy, we did our job while spending good family time," Tisci said.

He said he has been pushing for diversity for a long time now. "People can be so avant-garde, so advanced, but actually not, because people are still making differences between skin color," Tisci said.
