J.Y. Park (Park Jin Young) celebrated his birthday this week following what was troublesome news for JYP Entertainment . Stocks for JYP Entertainment within the Korean market fluctuated when it was announced that Wonder Girls' Ahn Sohee  would not be renewing her contract with the agency. While the week started off with negative news regarding the contract renewal of a key Wonder Girls member, JYP Entertainment concluded the week by revealing one of their rookies on Hidden Singer 2. J.Y. Park out shined all of guests on the program while performing Honey .

During an episode that featured JYP Entertainment founder, J.Y. Park, 5Live member Park Seong Jin performed. 5Live, JYP Entertainment's newest male group, has been featured on YG Entertainment's WIN and on the Pretty Man soundtrack for the song Lovely Girl. While on Hidden Singer 2, Park Seong Jin touched upon overcoming the rigorous trainee process within JYP Entertainment to debut with 5Live. Park Seong Jin appeared incredibly bashful on camera during speaking sequences but excelled during the singing portions of the program, as well as during spontaneous dance.

With YG Entertainment marketing WINNER with the new program WINNER TV and the launch of SM Entertainment's SM Rookies, it is crucial that JYP Entertainment finds unique ways to showcase their rookies. In November it was announced that JYP would be releasing two new groups in addition to 5Live, with the intention of the groups emulating the success of 2PM and missA.   With the focus shifting away from Wonder Girls, 5Live has the opportunity to become the great hope for the agency which has seen many trials and tribulations over the past two years.

The strength of JYP Entertainment's future lies within the loyalty of fans and the release of new material. Fans have embraced the recent release by 5Live and appear to be ready to embrace the newest edition to the label. With Ahn Sohee departing from Wonder Girls, speculation has shifted as to whether or not JYP will create a Wonder Girls subgroup or have the remaining members perform in the current formation. Only time will tell in regards to Wonder Girls, but it is clear that the future of JYP Entertainment is being placed within the hands of 5Live.
