Fast & Furious 7 release date was set on July 11, 2014, but with the untimely death of its lead star Paul Walker from a fiery car crash on November 30, the production was delayed and the release date was postponed.

Cody Walker, Paul Walker's younger brother was asked to appear in Fast & Furious 7 to replace his late brother in completing the final scenes for the movie, according to the report made by the Daily Mail.

Following the death of the Paul Walker, Universal Pictures suspended the production of the highly anticipated film indefinitely. The creators of the movie is said to be finding ways on how to deal with the dilemma and of course grieve for the moment.

"All of us at Universal are heartbroken," a studio spokesperson said in a statement hours after Walker's death on November 30. "Paul was truly one of the most beloved and respected members of our studio family for 14 years, and this loss is devastating to us, to everyone involved with the Fast and Furious films, and to countless fans.

"We send our deepest and most sincere condolences to Paul's family."

Chairman of Universal Pictures Donna Langley said that in their effort to continue helping the charity of Paul Walker they will share some of the proceeds from the DVD sales of Fast & Furious 6 to Reach Out Worldwide charity, saying:

"We share in the deep grief of his family, friends and the countless fans who love him... We keep Paul's memory alive and honor his legacy through continued support of Reach Out Worldwide, the nonprofit he founded to give hope to those who must rebuild after they have experienced natural disasters."

Meanwhile, an insider from the movie revealed to Daily Mail that the producers of Fast & Furious 7 elected to search for someone who looks like Paul to replace him in the movie.

Saying that Cody is "nearly identical" to Paul.

"They can shoot Cody from behind and at distance and if it's a shot they need Paul's face in close up they can CGI it later on."

The 25-year old brother of Paul is no first timer when it comes to the movies, as he had formerly worked as a stuntman on some movies already. Cody resides in Oregon, but has recently decided to stay with his mother in Los Angeles after the passing of his celebrity brother.

However, as reported by The Hollywood Reporter, Chris Morgan is currently working on the rewrite of the Fast & Furious 7, a rewrite that would allow Walker's character as Brian O'Conner to exit from the franchise using the existing footages.  They are hoping that the new script would allow the cast and crew to resume shooting by late January.

"What will drive everything is, is there an honorable and sensible way to do this?" an insider admitted to THR, before saying that "there's not really a road map" for the problems the Universal Studios is now facing.
