OST Roundup:IU Sings 'Pastel Crayons' For ' Pretty Man, Go Ara Sings For 'Reply 1994'

IU evokes the vintage sound of the 1960s with her track Pastel Crayons which is contained on her repackage album Modern Times Epilogue but is also a track for her drama Pretty Man. Pastel Crayons embodies the swing sounds that were popular as theme songs for 1960s American sitcoms and comedic movies. Audiences have anticipated a soundtrack single from IU for the drama and Pastel Crayons does not disappoint.

Actor Lee Jang Woo sings the ballad Saying I Love You as his Pretty Man character David Choi makes an earnest Christmas confession to IU's Kim Bo Tong. David Choi's true identity is starting to be unraveled while Jang Geun Suk's Dokgo Ma Te begins to earnestly pursue Kim Bo Tong. With the competition of The Heirs out of the, Pretty Man continues to struggle to move out of third place in ratings. With the absence of The Heirs, SBS has found another chart topper with Kim Soo Hyun's Man From The Stars.

Go Ara sweetly sings the ballad Start for Part 8 of the Reply 1994 soundtrack. Go Ara's Start is a remake of the 1999 single as consistent with many of the songs from Reply 1994 which explores the wonders of the early 1990s, the era of Seo Taiji and the Boys. The actress does an excellent job with the song for the soundtrack, which has also featured vocals from the drama's male leads. As the drama begins to draw to a close, audiences continue to search for well placed clues to discover who Go Ara's Sung Na Jung. With many viewers siding heavily for Trash and others for Chilbong, the actual reveal may come as a big surprise.

Eric Nam provides the vocals for Part 2 of the Let's Eat soundtrack with Great Guy. The tvN drama chronicles the trials and tribulations of a single divorcee whose passion for food is often thwarted by her desire to be accompanied while eating. The single is upbeat and a reflection of the spirit of youth exhibited by Yoon Doo Joon's questionable character who is supposedly an insurance man but appears to be a shut in.

SHINee's Taemin contributed to the Prime Minister and I soundtrack with the track Steps. The soundtrack will definitely be chock full of SM Entertainment artists considering that the drama is being produced by S.M. Culture and Contents. Prime Minister and I stars Girls Generation's Yoona; the drama is a heartwarming tale of a curmudgeon politician who becomes entangled with a haphazard journalist.

As the year begins to come to an end, the original soundtracks keep getting hotter. The market has become increasingly more crowded with dramas that are making viewer's must see lists. Prime Minister and I has shown great promise as both a drama and for the soundtrack release. IU continues to evoke vintage nostalgia with her well suited jazz tunes.
