K-Pop Crossover: Danny Im Dishes The Dirt On Diplo's New G-Dragon, CL, Skrillex Collaboration

The hosts of the Mnet television program "Danny From LA" are still reeling from Diplo's announcement that he has a song in the can with Big Bang's G-Dragon, 2NE1 rapper CL and electronic artist Skrillex, referred to by some as the first dubstep artist to go mainstream.

"This collaboration works and I like that respect of American artists wanting them featured on their stuff as opposed to the other way around," host Dumbfoundead said on this week's episode.

Host Danny Im admitted that he was so curious about Diplo's G-Dragon, CL, Skrillex collaboration that he called YG Entertainment (Big Bang and 2NE1's record label) to try and get some answers.

According to Im, the record label said there was a long way to go before the East meets West all-star track can be released.

"[The people I spoke to at YG Entertainment] said the song is in the works, but they have nothing laid down yet," Im said. "It's actually not going to be on G-Dragon or CL's solo albums. CL and G-Dragon are actually featuring on Diplo's project album."

Dumbfoundead pointed out that could increase the international publicity potential.

"That makes it bigger," he said.

Diplo dropped the news about the G-Dragon, CL, Skrillex collaboration in a Q&A last month on the social news and entertainment website Reddit.

"I really like your collaboration with G-Dragon on his recent release 'Coup d'Etat. How was it working with him?" a fan named LMFAO Miranda asked Diplo.

"Do you plan on working with any Korean artists in the future?"

"We got a crazy tune with G-Dragon, CL, and Skrillex coming out," was Diplo's response.

In addition to his work with the group Major Lazor, Diplo has produced albums by Beyonce, Justin Bieber, Snoop Lion (formerly Snoop Dogg), M.I.A. and No Doubt.
