JYP Entertainment Announces New Boy Group GOT7

JYP Entertainment will be debuting a new boy group to compete with SM Entertainment's EXO and YG Entertainment's WINNER.

On January 1st JYP officially announced their new post-2PM boy group named GOT7. GOT7 is being released as a 'post-boy group,' not unlike EXO and WINNER.

JYP is debuting a new boy group for the first time in 6 years since 2PM. GOT7 is expected to be active overseas as well, and anticipated to showcase a fresh new type of performance.

EXO has already 'taken' the Chinese fans since their debut. WINNER has proved themselves with their lively performances in harmony with Big Bang. Since GOT7 already has plans overseas, and is receiving a lot of interest for their upcoming schedules.

GOT7 is JYP's first ever hip hop boy group, and will be pursuing a genre called "martial arts tricking." Martial arts tricking involves martial arts moves and special techniques found in different martial arts forms. It's not quite like 2PM's acrobatics, and incorporates an aesthetic blend of kicks, flips, and twists.

JYP Entertainment will start revealing the GOT7 members on the 3rd. Their music video will be released on the 15th, and they will have their debut stage on the 16th at Mnet's "M Countdown." Their 1st mini album is scheduled for release on the 20th.
