F.T. Island Drummer Choi Min Hwan Wants A Bigger Room: Doctors Hired By 'Cheongdam-dong 111' Say He Needs A Friend

On Thursday's episode of the South Korean reality television show "Cheongdam-dong 111," the 21-year-old drummer vented his frustrations with rules of his band living situation.

"When we move to another place, the [other bandmembers] always take a look at the bigger rooms first," Choi said.

"I want to take a look too, but I know I can't take them. The older ones always get to use the room with its own bathroom and a closet. Sometimes I think it's not fair since we all pay the same amount."

Running for eight episodes on the tvN network, "Cheongdam-dong 111" features artists from the record label FNC Entertainment as they confront professional and personal challenges.

Yet despite his cramped quarters, a psychologist employed to assess the wellbeing of the members of CNBLUE and F.T. Island, in an episode from last month, believes Minhwan feels isolated.

The doctor made the assessment after the two groups completed an exercise where they were asked to draw a house.

"You are a lonely person, right?" the psychologist asked Choi.

"The door [in your drawing] is hidden to the side, there is no open path, and you also drew a cliff. It means you're extremely anxious, afraid to take risks, prefer isolation and are lonely."

The F.T. Island drummer even agreed the assessment wasn't that far off.

"I think I know what you're trying to say," Choi said. "It really does feel like that."

And although each band had its share of mostly emotional strain, overall F.T. Island is slightly better off mentally as a unit than CNBLUE is, according to another psychological expert hired by  "Cheongdam-dong 111."

"CNBLUE's stress levels came out to be a bit higher than [F.T. Island's] overall," the expert said.
