Big Bang ‘Global Cover Event,’ Overwhelming International Application

Group Big Bang’s ‘Global Cover Event’ has drawn a total of 7,000 fans from 61 countries to have submitted their entries for a chance to win.

YG Entertainment announced the top 40 finalists for ‘Global Cover Event – ‘Blue/Bad Boy’ contest on April 3 and now has opened up the voting to select top entries.

The fans sent entries for the five categories in vocal, dance, band, instrumental play and creative work. It was to have said staff members were surprised by the numerous responses received from fans in U.S., England, Brazil, Puerto Rico, and more submitted their entries.

Among the entries was Justin Kim who appeared in ‘Birth of a Great Star 2’ although despite his impressive melodic vocals and composition skills was unfortunately eliminated before the live broadcast.

Justin Kim was selected as one of the top 40 finalists for arranging ‘Bad Boy’ in his own style showing off his excellent vocal talents and rap.

There are many other entries that stand out there were some who even dyed their own hair to reenact G-Dragon’s hairstyle to even his outfit. Some even performed in perfect Korean pronunciation even though as a foreigner.

The voting for ‘Blue/Bad Boy Cover Event’ will conclude on April 10 and the winner will participate in a tour of YG Entertainment office and an opportunity to meet Big Bang.
