‘Betrayal’ Season 2 Possibly Axed? ABC Planning Not To Renew Series After Its Failure To Spark Curiosity?

While 'Betrayal' Season 1 will already end on January 19 after airing 13 episodes, its Season 2 schedule was not included in ABC's newly-released show schedule for 2014. Does it mean that 'Betrayal' Season 2 will not take place?

According to insiders, ABC is still in the process of deciding whether it will renew the show for 'Betrayal' Season 2. The network will reportedly make an official announcement this May.

The series tells the story of an affair between photographer Sara and lawyer Jack. Such affair should have been normal if both of them weren't committed to other persons. 'Betrayal' likewise revolves around a murder trial involving Sara and Jack but on different sides.

However, despite ABC's efforts to market the series, the ratings were not as impressive with ABC's other show ratings. Nonetheless, the network still opted to keep the series running unlike 'Lucky 7' which got cancelled just after two episodes.

For netizen Winfield Peyton, the problem is not with 'Betrayal's' storyline but with ABC's scheduling of its shows: "I LOVE BETRAYAL, the problems lies in the way ABC programmers continue to move other programs into the 10pm time slot. Then you add the award season and the Christmas holiday and you are bound to lose watchers."

Facebook user Dariusz Stolarczyk believes that advertising will help the show gain ratings: "I love this show! How can they cancel one of the best shows? I wait all week for Sunday to come so I can watch. You need to advertise the show way more, a lot of people don't even know it exists. Great show!"

'Betrayal's' final episode entitled 'A Better Place' will air on January 19.
