Actress Jin Se Yeon was hospitalized for possible repertory problems on Monday, after a fire near the Seoul building where she was receiving vocal training caught fire.

"Since the building was old, there was no emergency exit," one witness told the Korean publication Ajunews. "There was two-level terrace by the window, allowing escape."

The 19-year-old star was preparing for her upcoming role in the upcoming Korean Broadcasting System television drama "The Age of Feeling," a representative from the actress's management company told the publication eNEWS.

"[Jin Se Yeon] was receiving vocal lessons for The Age of Feeling when there was a fire in the building that was located behind the one she was in," the rep said.

"Everyone at the site, including Jin Se Yeon, managers and vocal trainers, were carried off to the hospital right away."

Jin plays the role of aspiring singer Ok Ryeon in "Age of Feeling," which is slated to begin its 24-episode run on Jan. 15.

The program reportedly portrays the life of Korean independence fighters in Shanghai, China during the 1930s.

In 2012, the teen explained to the Chosun Ilbo that the mature roles she has played throughout her career have enabled her to develop her career quickly.

"I think I still have a lot of growing up to do, but I've had to play mature characters that must endure many trials and tribulations, including extreme solitude," she said with a laugh.

Discovered by a talent scout in 2007, while she was in middle school, Jin admitted her rise to fame hasn't come easy.

"I think I took just two days off this year," she said. "I think I caught the attention of directors who were looking for a fresh face, because I was a relatively unknown actress at that time."

And like any celebrity, Jin's success hasn't come without its share of detractors, something she believes is completely understandable.

"I probably would have had the same suspicions [of my rapid rise to fame] if I was a viewer," she said.

"I wanted to change my hairstyle, dye it or do something to get a different look, but I really had no time due to back-to-back filming schedules."
