TVXQ's New Single "Something" is Addictive

South Korean pop duo TVXQ recently released the lead single "Something", a jazz-inspired song with mass appeal.

TVXQ made an official comeback on January 6 with the lead single "Something". This lead single is unlike anything the duo has produced before. It is casual, but upbeat and jazzy with a catchy melody that captivates listeners immediately.

The diverse jazz accompaniment featured throughout the song made it seem like the listeners were at a live concert. The double bass, trumpet, and trombone especially added to the variety of sounds that livened up the atmosphere. This striking melody went hand-in-hand with TVXQ's comical and confident lyrics.

TVXQ celebrated its tenth year annniversary by attempting a totally different genre. The duo was worried that the album would garner mixed responses from fans and critics, but all doubts were laid to rest with the song "Something". Lyrics like, "Please don't wake me up. Countless girls all told me that they like me," or "If you smoothly approach me without getting caught, I might just turn a blind eye and play along," made listeners smile.

TVXQ's stage performance was also impressive. In the music video and the comeback stage, the duo used a rope or a piece of cloth to depict props in different settings such as a boxing ring, orchestra, etc. In addition, the music video included stop-motion effects, roto-scoping, computer-generated images, and other control camera techniques to show off TVXQ's skills.

TVXQ will continue to actively promote its popular new single "Something".
