Celebrities Coming Out 2014: Aaron Schock Dodges Gay Rumors As Robin Roberts Thanks Girlfriend

2014 has barely begun and a host of celebrities coming out stories have grabbed our attention, with two names front and center: Robin Roberts and Aaron Schock.

Recently, "Good Morning America" anchor Robin Roberts published a note on her Facebook fan page where she publically acknowledged her long-time girlfriend for the first time.

"I am grateful for my entire family, my long time girlfriend, Amber, and friends as we prepare to celebrate a glorious new year together," wrote Robin Roberts.

Some sources have declared the note as Robin Roberts coming out as gay, but others are quick to point out that celebrities coming out do not necessarily have to come with a label.

While other celebrities coming out (like Anderson Cooper) have used the word gay explicitly, Robin Roberts has not felt the need to identify her sexual orientation outside of the fact that she has been with a woman for 10 years.

And while Robin Roberts is receiving a lot of praise and support for her act, Republican Congressman Aaron Schock has been mired in controversy.

The coming out drama began when journalist Italy Hod appeared to out Schock in a Facebook post of his own.

"What if you know a certain GOP congressman, let's just say from Illinois, is gay... and you know this because one of your friends, a journalist for a reputable network, told you in no uncertain terms that he caught that GOP congressman and his male roommate in the shower... together," wrote Hod.

With various celebrities coming out, the gay rumors surrounding Aaron Schock is receiving a lot of attention due to his strong anti-gay stance, voting against "Don't Ask Don't Tell," the repeal of DOMA, and other gay rights ordinances.
