US Billboard Praises TVXQ In Track-By-Track Review Of 'Tense'

Billboard has been at the forefront of the pop music industry for decades now and has risen to also become the quintessential music ranking for all sorts of music genres around the world. Which of course means it is well on top of what is happening in the world of K-Pop.

Billboard's resident K-Pop expert Jeff Benjamin does a great job of bridging the gap between East and West, helping to make Korean pop music more accessible to the average American reader. Often showing praise for new singles, solo ventures, and music videos, Billboard's latest review is a complete in-depth assessment of TVXQ's latest album, Tense.

Offering a track-by-track review of the pop duo's seventh studio album, Billboard praises the group for their refreshed sound and "throwback-inspired pop," comparing the achievements of the latest release pop greats Michael Jackson and Bruno Mars.

Tense is an ambitious album, but the mixture of inspirations, including adequate praise for the group's enormous global fanbase (Cassiopeia), make it the perfect celebration of TVXQ's tenth anniversary since their debut.

The album, released on January 6 by label SM Entertainment, is comprised of twelve tracks that offer everything from the big bang inspired pre-release lead single "Something" to the fan-dedicated "Ten (10 Years)" to "Love Again," a sultry R&B tune showcasing Yunho and Changmin's powerful vocals.
