Honey Boo Boo Accident Leaves Family Sore; TLC Reality TV Stars’ Car Sustains Moderate Damage!

The family car of TLC reality star Alana Thompson, better known as "Honey Boo Boo," figured in an accident after it collided with a truck that ran a red light on Monday night, leaving the family sore.

In a statement sent to media outlets, Alana's mother, Mama June, said it was the first time that Honey Boo Boo had an accident or any of them being involved in similar situation so "it was really scary for us."

"We are definitely really sore today, but our top priority is to celebrate Pumpkin's birthday. She turned 14 today, and no matter how sore we feel, we are going to go out and celebrate. As always we want to thank everyone for their support and well wishes," the statement said.

Apart from Alana and Mama June, also in the car were the father, Mike "Sugar Bear" Thompson, who was driving the car, Lauryn "Pumpkin" Shannon and Jessica "Chubbs" Shannon, according to TMZ.

Only June appeared to have suffered the worst after sustaining a back injury. The family car, meanwhile, only sustained moderate damage.

In the report by E! Online, Sugar Bear told police that the headlights of the truck weren't on which is why he didn't see it coming. But the truck driver, Seth Cagle, 19, claimed that his headlights were on automatic setting.

Cagle told E! News that they "both had the green light."

"He [Sugar Bear] made a left hand turn which crossed the lane and I was traveling and that is when I struck him because he cut me off. He made a left hand turn when crossing on-coming traffic-that is when he struck me and I struck him. I was headed straight," the report said.

Police could not confirm if the truck driver was telling the truth because vehicle was already parked when they arrived.

The new season of "Honey Boo Boo" is set to return to TLC on January 16.
