Cube Entertainment Threatens Legal Action For Author Of Fake Article Claiming Trouble Maker's Hyuna Is Pregnant

Executives at Cube Entertainment are fuming after a phony article was reportedly circulating online, claiming Hyuna of the K-pop duo Trouble Maker is two-weeks pregnant with her Trouble Maker bandmate Hyun Seung's child.

The lawyers at Cube Entertainment, the label that represents Trouble Maker as well as Hyun and Hyuna's other groups, the wildly successful acts BEAST and 4Minute respectively, are pursing legal action due to what they feel is clear malicious intent, according to the publication eNEWS.

"The fact that the person who spread the rumors wrote it in an article format, it's evident that the author meant to cause harm," read an official company statement from Friday.

"We plan on requesting a police investigation and will take firm legal action against this."

Formed in 2011, Trouble Maker is infamous for their risqué music videos and photo shoots. The group's sexually charged choreography and palpable chemistry has led many fans to speculate whether Hyun Seung and Hyuna are dating, a rumor they have yet to confirm or deny.

According to the website allkpop, there were two phony Trouble Maker news items, both believed to have come from the same person.

"The rumors were disguised as a news article, making it easy to accept as facts by [fans] who may come across it," a Cube Entertainment rep explained.

"They even made another [phony] news article containing a fake response from us [Cube Entertainment]. This fake agency response supposedly read, 'she's going to have the child.'"

A different Cube spokesperson claimed it was the predictably rabid media feeding frenzy that followed, before the news articles were revealed to be false that provoked the hardline response from the record label.

"As the related rumor spread, we were contacted with a lot of questions," the spokesperson said.

"We decided that we are unable to sit and watch the defamation of character of these young artists. We decided to request a police investigation."
