SMTOWN’s LA Concert Gaining Bigger Expectation Worldwide

Fans are showing a heightened excitement towards SM’s concert in LA.

SMTOWN is to kick off their ‘SMTOWN Live World Tour III’ on May 20 at the Honda Center in Los Angeles.

The tickets for the LA concert went on sale last Thursday, April 5 at 5PM PST.

Since it has been quite some time since their last visit in Los Angeles in 2010, fans can expect a whole new show to be a huge success. SM’s last concert in Los Angeles was attended with a total of 15,000 excited fans and 70% of them were reported to have been non-Asian.

A fan in Peru shared with Kpopstarz through Facebook, “I visited the LA concert in 2010. It was so good. I wish to go again. I especially wish for the new group EXO to join the concert,” unable to hide his expectations.

SMTOWN Live that began in 2008 held 3 performances in Seoul, Shanghai and Bangkok. Then in 2010 there were a total of 11 performances in 6 cities in Seoul, Los Angeles, Shanghai, Tokyo, Paris, and New York City.

The LA concert in September of 2010 in particular gathered 15,000 enthusiastic fans at the Staples Center. ‘SMTOWN Live ’10 World Tour in LA’ that features SM artists has placed number 10 on the U.S. Billboard Boxscore chart, beating out several of the biggest names in the international music scene. At that time the chart placed Justin Bieber as 24th.

The Boxscore chart ranks top concert sales taking into account the overall popularity of the overseas performances over the past three months, ticket sales and the size of the audience recorded by performances promoters around the world.

The concert is having bigger expectations as relying on the growing hallyu sensation the artists are expected to show further sophisticated performances.

The tour after LA is expected to take place in Tokyo, Beijing and Seoul.
