Octomom Nadya Suleman can face up to six years in prison after she failed to report her earnings to the government from her porn film and several topless shots while enjoying public money.

The Los Angeles County district attorney's office announced on Monday that Suleman was charged with three counts of welfare fraud after she failed to report some $30,000 in total earnings.

"While applying for public aid, the mother of 14 children allegedly failed to disclose that she was also getting checks for personal appearances and residuals from videos," the office of District Attorney Jackie Lacey said in a statement published onABC News.

Nadya Suleman was dubbed Octomom after giving birth to octuplets on January 26, 2009 through in vitro fertilization. Suleman struggled to raise her 14 children because she was unemployed and initial offers of help stopped.

In 2010, Suleman defaulted on the house and was promptly evicted. They moved into a much smaller house in Palmdale, Los Angeles but again left the house last year.

Aside from the pornographic materials, Octomom Nadya Suleman reportedly earned from participating in a celebrity boxing match where she found herself face to face at one point against Amy Fisher, who shot the wife of her lover in a much-publicized case in 1992.

CNN  has reported that Octomom, whose real name is Natalie Denise Suleman, has not been detained by the authorities yet. However, she was told to appear before the Los Angeles County judge during the initial arraignment set on Friday.

The district attorney's office will ask for a bail bond of $25,000 for her temporary liberty.

Family law attorney Steve Mindel told CNN that her children will more than likely stay with her.

"If there was a dad or somebody trying to take custody, then that could be somewhat important to the court. But even in that case, courts don't like to punish children for the acts of their parents," Mindel said.
