Lupita Nyong’o Deserves Fashion Style Award? ’12 Years A Slave’ Star Bags SAG Honors!

Lupita Nyong'o wowed the fashionistas again during the SAG awards when she rocked a green Gucci dress as the fashion police again noticed her style. The "12 Years A Slave" star surely did not disappoint after the Golden Globes on Sunday where she came in a Ralph Lauren number,

Lupita Nyong'o grabbed best supporting actress trophy for "12 Years A Slave" on Saturday, January 18, at the 20th Annual Screen Actors Guild Awards. She bested Oscar winner Jennifer Lawrence who won the same award during the Golden Globes.

After getting the fashion style award from two consecutive red carpet events, Lupita Nyong'o claimed that she's not pressured to be fashionable all the time.

"No, I actually don't feel the pressure because for me my first love is acting and that's where my focus is," the actress told E! "I've loved the opportunity to learn about the fashion world and appreciate it as an art form, and I look forward to my continued education, but I never want it to take over my acting."

In her acceptance speech, Lupita Nyong'o said: "Being recognized by fellow actors is an honor of the highest order."

She then went on to recognize Solomon Northup (played by Chiwetel Ejiofor), a free black man in New York who was kidnapped and sold to slavery, "without whom this wouldn't have been possible at all."

Lupita Nyong'o also thanked the director, Steve McQueen, "for taking a flashlight and shining it underneath the floorboards of this nation and reminding us what it is we stand on. You are love personified."

"I also wanna thank my family, who have kept it real. My dad, he was the first person I called when I got this role, and I said to him, 'Daddy, do you know Brad Pitt? I'm going to be in a movie with him.' And he said, 'I don't know him personally, but I'm glad you got a job.' So am I!" E! reported.
