Godzilla 2014 Cast Talks Filming, Action Sequences, And The Iconic Roar

Recently, the cast of the 2014 "Godzilla" movie shared their thoughts and experiences during the filming of the highly anticipated remake.

As some fans know, cast members Aaron Taylor-Johnson and Bryan Cranston play father and son, and Johnson plays the physically demanding character Lieutenant Ford Brody.

“It was a physically demanding role," Johnson told Total Film. "I'm in helicopters. We're on trucks and trains and we're moving giant missiles... Things are crashing around us. You're getting close to death. There's a lot of stuff that's made it really active."

And out of all the "Godzilla" 2014 cast members, Bryan Cranston appears to be a genuine fan of the monster since childhood.

"As a kid, Godzilla was my creature of choice. I loved the absolute destructive nature of this beast," said Cranston during an E! set visit.

But in addition to having epic action sequences and mind-blowing CGI, the 2014 "Godzilla" remake will also strive for solid storytelling, according to cast member Sally Hawkins, who plays Dr. Wates in the movie.

"Every beat is accounted for and it's rich and alive," said Hawkins according to io9.

And according to a recent potential script synopsis leak, this could very well be the richest "Godzilla" film yet.

Meanwhile, spoilers confirm the part of the 2014 "Godzilla" movie will take place in 1954, the same year the very first "Godzilla" movie was released.

This was revealed by cinematographer Seamus McGarvey during an interview back in October, according to CosmicBookNews.

"On 'Godzilla' I used the old C series anamorphic lenses, and for the section in 1954 I used really old vintage lenses from the early 1960s," said McGarvey. "They took the edge off of the very vivid, sharp sensors, and gave it a distant period feel. That's exciting as glass is coming back in terms of lending difference to each project that we do. It's nice to be able to interfere with image, to sort of mess it up a bit."

"For example, for the 1950s section on Godzilla I knew that the look I wanted was a peeled look with muted colors and diffusion on the highlights, a sense of period distance."
