Super Bowl National Anthem 2014 Sang By Opera Singer! [VIDEO] Renee Flemings Makes History SInging At Monumental Football Game On February 2nd

Super Bowl National Anthem 2014 will be sang by an opera singer for the first time in Super bowl history! Renee Fleming will be using her super pipes to belt out the anthem opening up for the most watched show of 2014.

At MetLife Stadium on Feb. 2, 2014 the Super Bowl will kick off with the four time Grammy winner singing the national anthem. Last year's Super Bowl was watched by more than 164 million viewers in the U.S. so Fleming better be ready to sing her heart out! She certainly is very talented.

The NFL has recently chosen more mainstream performers to sing the national anthem for the Super Bowl. Alicia Keys, Kelly Clarkson, Christina Aguilera, Carrie Underwood and Jennifer Hudson sang the national anthem at the last five Super Bowls. Having an unknown opera singer is a big move for the NFL.

This isn't Fleming's first huge event to sing at. The 54-year-old opera singer also performed at President Obama's first Inaugural celebration in 2009 and at Queen Elizabeth's Diamond Jubilee in June 2012.

On February 2, 2014, MetLife Stadium in East Rutherford, New Jersey, will host Super Bowl XLVIII. SO it is appropriate that Fleming be the first opera singer to perform as she lives in New York.

Fleming performs at New York venues and is currently starring in Rusalka at the Metropolitan Opera.

After winning their respective conference championship games, the Seahawks and Broncos will meet in a showdown of the greats in Super Bowl XLVIII.

It isn't uncommon for people to bet on how long the national anthem will last during the biggest football game of the year. Males and females aloke place bets on almost anything during the big day.

Will an opera star singing change the length of the anthem? Opera music usually stretches out lines so will this be any different.

Better start investigating now!
